Andrea Weitz
Founder & President
Dr. Andrea Weitz is an Emergency Medicine physician based in Lubbock, TX since 2020. Her love of animals goes back to childhood when her father's work brought the family to Australia and she fell in love with the country's awe-inspiring wildlife - as well as the neighbor's dog. As an adult, Andrea has been committed to fighting for improved health and wellbeing for humans and animals alike, graduating from medical school in 2015 and rescuing animals in between hospital shifts as she completes her ER residency.
Andrea came to the Southwest with two cats, and has since grown her pack to eight cats, eleven dogs, five horses, two beta fish, and a husband.

Rachel van Raan
Board Member
Rachel was born into an animal-loving family that was never without a cat (or three). She's lived with rescue animals throughout her life and has a passion for animal welfare and wildlife conservation, as well as photography and design. She's made a career in Communications and Digital Media, always ready to help lift up the voices of overlooked populations - including animals.
Rachel is based in Brooklyn, NY where she shares an apartment with three furry feline roommates.
