Hello! I'm Stella!
I am so thankful to be here at Desert Willow. I was left in a kill shelter when I was less than a year old and I don't know why. I was scared and lonely and didn't want to come out of my kennel so I stopped doing that. I also lost my appetite so I stopped eating. The people there didn't know what to do for me and thought maybe I would be better off euthanized. But then one last call was made to Desert Willow and they said, "we will take her."
I was scared on the way up here and then when I first got there. But people were kind and just let me decompress. Soon, I learned that maybe going outside wasn't that bad. Maybe eating the yummy string cheese and food was also pretty nice. I started to feel better and wanted to be a part of life again.
Now, I am still a little scared, but am learning how to have confidence. I LOVE people when they let me sit on them and they brush me. I LOVE sitting in the tall grass. I LOVE other dogs as they can be my friends.
I am ready to be a part of a new home now. I am about 1.5 years old and have a lot of life to live and have started to become excited to live it.
Come meet me :)
